About

Colleen Levy aka @jewellerydreaming has always had a passion for jewellery and gemstones as can be seen through her Instagram account and blog

“My enthusiasm and collecting of jewellery have been evolving since I was a child. I get a lot of enjoyment from discovering new designers and exploring their styles.”

Jewellery has been a passion of mine since I was a little girl. My most precious treasures were collected and kept in my jewellery box, and one of my favourite pastimes was trying on my mother’s and grandmother’s jewellery.  I guess you could say it’s always been “my thing” and I could spend hours discussing it, looking at it, and planning my next piece.

Often, jewellery is one of the first things I notice when I meet someone. My initial memory of my best friend was the small pearl earrings she was wearing when she was presented in class – I knew from that moment that we had to be BFF’s.

My Instagram account, @jewellerydreaming has given me an outlet for my infatuation with jewellery and features pieces from my personal collection and others from local Sydney designers. Although earrings, necklaces and bracelets are often pictured, coloured gemstone rings are my absolute weakness and obsession.  Here are the answers to the questions I often get asked:

What’s your favourite gemstone?

Too hard to answer because I love so many!…. But I would probably have to say sapphires!

Yellow, White or Rose Gold?

For me, always YELLOW gold.

If you could only choose one piece of jewellery to wear, what would it be?

A cocktail Ring!

Most cherished piece of jewellery?

My original engagement/wedding ring from my husband and my sapphire earrings from my parents.

How did you get such a large collection of jewellery?

I’ve been collecting since I can remember and still have the first ring I bought with my first pay from my first job! I’ve always had an ‘extreme’ jewellery passion.
