A few years ago I visited August in Los Angeles and I have never seen a better-curated collection of designers in one boutique. It was here that owner Bill Hermsen introduced me to the beautiful work of Monika Krol, and it is her Oval Aquamarine Cast Ring that currently has my attention. As you may know, I have a weakness for aquamarines (my birthstone) and cocktail rings. This piece combines those two weaknesses crafted into one gorgeous piece of jewellery.
This ring is the perfect combination of cool ocean-blue aquamarine paired with warm buttery 18ct gold. I love the modern, smooth bezel setting, the satin finish of the gold and the large bold size of the stone. Although it is probably considered a ‘cocktail-ring’, I would wear this baby day and night, to work and on the weekend, whilst brunching and dining out!
Bill has an amazing Instagram account that features divine pieces from all of his designers but this Monika Krol ring is an absolute standout for me and has me dreaming of the day it finally makes it’s way to me here in Sydney!
